Sludge Dewatering Equipment
Belt Filter Press

Belt Filter Press

The DT-type belt filter press is a sludge dewatering machine used to process waste activated sludge (WAS) and mixed sludge from biological treatment at municipal wastewater treatment plants. The sludge dewatering press lowers the moisture content and volume of the sludge, which makes it easier to transport, landfill, incinerate, or process further. The belt filter press also serves water supply and drainage sludge dewatering, paper and pulp mill sludge dewatering, foundry, leather, and textile sludge dewatering, chemical plant effluent treatment, and food processing sludge dewatering.

As solid-liquid separation equipment, the press holds the sludge between upper and lower filter belts. Rollers apply progressively higher pressure and shear, which releases free water from the sludge. Dewatering takes place in three stages, gravity drainage, wedge pre-pressing, and medium-to-high-pressure pressing.
