Ultrafiltration (UF) Water Treatment System

Ultrafiltration (UF) Water Treatment System

The UF membrane filtration system is used for municipal water supply purification, industrial pure water pretreatment, advanced wastewater treatment, reclaimed water reuse, and seawater desalination pretreatment. The ultrafiltration system removes suspended solids, colloids, macromolecular organics, bacteria, and viruses while retaining beneficial minerals using a hollow-fiber UF system. This is often installed for surface water purification, turbidity and suspended-solids removal, and RO membrane protection by reducing RO feedwater SDI.

This UF water treatment system utilizes the selective separation of ultrafiltration membranes for sieve-like separation driven by transmembrane pressure. When raw water passes the membrane fibers, the solvent and dissolved solutes that are not retained by the membrane pass through as product water, while suspended solids, colloids, bacteria, and other particles larger than the pores are retained. The membrane pore size ranges from 0.01 to 0.1 μm, and the molecular weight cut-off ranges from 50,000 to 150,000 daltons.
